Experiential Learning True learning happens only when it touches an emotion which are caused by experiences. In this introductory module, it was emphasized to make the participants feel and experience the importance of making learning joyful and strike an emotion in the children. This impacts the thinking of the children towards the concepts and ensures their active involvement in the learning process, thus making learning an experience.
Foundational Literacy & Numeracy The National Education Policy 2020 has stressed on the importance of focusing on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy as one of its main pillars. It has indicated that the success of the entire NEP2020 rests on the realization that only if the present statistics of the grade level competency of children in Foundation Literacy and Numeracy does not improve, our efforts in the rest of the stages would not yield the desired results. This was specified with the respective statistics and using activities and games, various strategies to improve the same was highlighted.
Inclusion The importance of educating oneself about the knowledge about inclusivity in the classrooms and developing a positive attitude instead of a sympathetic approach towards children with disabilities was the main focus of this module. It was important for teachers to recognize that differences do not denote deficiency and that every child has the right to live free from discrimination.
All the modules were received very well by the participants and the feedback given was very encouraging.
